Tips & Tricks (5)
- Brown Meat Properly First 🥩Don't skip browning the ground beef—let it sit undisturbed for 2-3 minutes per side to develop a flavorful crust that adds depth to your entire dish, rather than just crumbling it immediately.
- Bloom Your Tomato Paste 🍅Cook the tomato paste in butter for 1-2 minutes before adding liquids to intensify its savory umami flavor and eliminate any metallic taste that raw paste can bring.
- Stagger Your Pasta Addition ⏱️Add pasta 2-3 minutes after the liquid comes to a boil rather than immediately, ensuring the flavorful sauce base develops first and the pasta absorbs maximum seasoning as it cooks.
- Temper Your Cream Mixture 🥛When adding cold milk and heavy cream to the hot broth, pour slowly while stirring to gradually raise their temperature and prevent curdling or separation in your finished sauce.
- Add Cheese Off-Heat 🧀Remove the pot from heat completely before stirring in the shredded cheeses so they melt smoothly and evenly without breaking down into greasy clumps from excessive heat exposure.
