- ½ - onion
- 3 tablespoons - olive oil

- 4 cloves - garlic
- 1 lb - ground beef
- 1 tsp - garlic powder
- 1 tsp - onion powder
- 1 tsp - paprika
- 1 tsp - dried basil
- 4 tablespoons - tomato paste
- 1 jar - tomato sauce
- 2 cups - chicken broth
- 12 ounces - lasagna pasta
- 1 cup - shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¾ cup - grated parmesan cheese
- ½ cup - fresh basil
- ½ cup - heavy cream
- ricotta cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion, season with salt and pepper, and cook until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add ground beef and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, basil, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook until slightly darkened.
- Add tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Stir in 2 cups chicken broth.
- Add broken lasagna noodles and additional broth as needed to ensure pasta is submerged.
- Simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
- Stir in mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh basil. Add heavy cream if desired and stir to combine.
- Serve hot topped with ricotta, more cheese, and extra basil if desired.
