My Orange Fluff Salad is a party staple. It’s like sunshine in a bowl. I’m talking creamy, dreamy, citrusy goodness that’s so easy to whip up, you’ll feel like a dessert wizard. It is quick and bright and perfect for a potluck. This fluff recipe has been a staple in out house for many years. This vintage recipe was made by my grandma, my mother and my sisters. We love the light and bright flavor of this dessert salad.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Drain Your Fruit Thoroughly 🍊Drain the mandarin oranges and crushed pineapple in a fine-mesh strainer for at least 15 minutes before folding in to prevent excess liquid from making your salad watery and breaking down the marshmallows.
- Chill Your Jello Base First ❄️Allow the orange jello to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until it reaches a syrupy consistency before folding in other ingredients—this prevents the hot jello from melting the marshmallows and whipped topping.
- Toast the Coconut for Depth 🥥Lightly toast the sweetened shredded coconut in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes until golden, then cool it completely before adding to enhance its nutty flavor and prevent it from absorbing moisture from the salad.
- Fold, Don't Mix 🤲Use a gentle folding motion with a rubber spatula when combining all ingredients to maintain the fluffy, light texture and keep marshmallows and whipped topping intact rather than deflating them with vigorous stirring.
- Make Ahead and Chill Overnight 🌙Prepare this salad 12-24 hours in advance and refrigerate to allow flavors to meld together beautifully and for the texture to set into that classic creamy-fluffy consistency your family loves.
