Tips & Tricks (5)
- Caramelize Your Peaches First 🍑Sauté fresh peaches in oil until they develop a golden-brown crust before blending; this concentrates their natural sugars and adds depth that prevents the sauce from tasting one-dimensionally sweet.
- Bloom Your Smoked Chili Powder 🌶️Toast the smoked chili powder in dry heat for 30 seconds before adding it to the sauce to unlock and amplify its smoky complexity, creating a more robust flavor profile.
- Let Bourbon Cook Off Properly 🥃After adding bourbon, simmer for at least 3-4 minutes to allow alcohol to evaporate while leaving behind the rich caramel notes that give the sauce its sophisticated depth.
- Balance Acid Strategically 🍋Taste and adjust your vinegar and lemon juice separately at the end—adding each independently allows you to fine-tune whether you want bright citrus notes or deeper vinegar tang without over-acidifying.
- Strain for Velvety Texture ✨Pass the finished sauce through a fine-mesh sieve to remove peach pulp and jalapeño bits, creating a silky consistency perfect for glazing and a more refined presentation.
