Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 350℉. Grease a 9X9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
2
In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Lastly, whisk in the melted butter until the mixture is smooth. Spread into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
3
In a separate bowl, stir together the chopped pecans, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until combined. Stir together the melted butter and vanilla extract before adding to the bowl and mixing with a fork just until a crumbly mixture forms. Crumble the mixture evenly over top of the pumpkin mixture in the baking dish.
4
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until the topping is golden and the pecans are fragrant and toasty. Let cool slightly before serving warm or cool completely before serving, if preferred. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Your Pecans First 🥜Lightly toast the pecans in a 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes before chopping and mixing into the crisp topping to intensify their buttery, rich flavor and prevent them from becoming soggy.
- Brown Your Butter for Depth 🧈Melt the butter until it turns golden brown with a nutty aroma before mixing into the crumble topping; this adds a sophisticated, caramelized flavor that elevates the entire dish.
- Bloom Your Spices 🌶️Gently warm the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger in a small pan for 30 seconds before adding them to the pumpkin filling to unlock their essential oils and create more vibrant, complex spice notes.
- Chill Before Baking ❄️Refrigerate the assembled crisp for at least 30 minutes before baking so the crumble topping stays chunky and textured rather than melting into the filling during cooking.
- Layer Your Crisp Strategically 📚Spread the pumpkin filling evenly and add the crumble topping in clumps rather than pressing it down, ensuring maximum crispness and creating delightful crunchy-soft contrasts in every bite.
