Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Asparagus Dry First 💧Thoroughly dry your asparagus with paper towels before wrapping with prosciutto to ensure the prosciutto crisps properly and adheres better during cooking.
- Wrap at an Angle 🌀Wrap the prosciutto diagonally around each asparagus spear in a spiral motion rather than straight across—this creates better surface area for crisping and a more elegant presentation.
- Use Room Temperature Ingredients 🌡️Let prosciutto and asparagus sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking so they cook evenly and the prosciutto crisps without the asparagus becoming overcooked.
- Finish with Finishing Oil 🫒Drizzle high-quality extra virgin olive oil immediately after cooking while still hot, as the residual heat releases the oil's aromatic compounds for maximum flavor impact.
- Add Crispy Edges with High Heat 🔥Start cooking at high heat (400°F+) for the first 3-4 minutes to render the prosciutto fat and achieve crispy edges, then reduce heat if needed to finish cooking the asparagus tender.
