Tips & Tricks (5)
- Butter Temperature is Critical 🧈Melt butter over medium heat and let it cool slightly before mixing with corn syrup and brown sugar to prevent the mixture from becoming too thin or separating.
- Work Quickly with the Cereal Mixture ⚡Once you combine the puffed wheat with the chocolate mixture, work rapidly to form nests before it hardens, using buttered or oiled hands to prevent sticking.
- Cocoa Powder Sifting Prevents Lumps 🎯Sift cocoa powder into your wet ingredients rather than stirring it in directly to ensure a smooth, lump-free chocolate coating that evenly coats each cereal piece.
- Chill Before Final Assembly ❄️Refrigerate the formed nests for 15-20 minutes before adding Cadbury mini eggs; this firms them up and prevents the structure from collapsing when you press in the decorative eggs.
- Add Eggs at Room Temperature 🥚Remove mini eggs from refrigeration a few minutes before placing them on nests so they don't shock the chocolate coating and cause cracking or separation.
