- 15 ¼ ounces - Chocolate cake Mix, Plus ingredients
- 3 ½ ounces - Chocolate pudding Mix, Plus ingredients
- ¾ cup - Peanut butter
- ¼ cup - Chocolate frosting
- 8 ounces - Whipped Topping
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Reese’s Pieces
Instructions
- Prepare and cook boxed cake mix according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, prepare chocolate pudding mix according to package directions. Stir 1/2 cup peanut butter into the pudding mix. Set aside.
- Place remaining peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 seconds. Stir well.
- Place chocolate frosting in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 seconds. Stir well.
- Once cake is removed from oven, use the end of a wooden spoon or chopstick to poke holes all over the top of the cake – trying not to go through the whole thickness of the cake.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate frosting and peanut butter all over the cake, then pour over the chocolate-peanut butter pudding.
- Smooth the pudding into an even layer using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
- Place cake in the fridge to cool slightly, then top with the Cool Whip, smoothing down in an even layer.
- Garnish with any remaining melted peanut butter and frosting, along with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Reese’s Pieces.
- Allow melted peanut butter and frosting to set before slicing and serving.
