Instructions
1
Prepare and cook boxed cake mix according to package directions.
2
Meanwhile, prepare chocolate pudding mix according to package directions. Stir 1/2 cup peanut butter into the pudding mix. Set aside.
3
Place remaining peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 seconds. Stir well.
4
Place chocolate frosting in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 seconds. Stir well.
5
Once cake is removed from oven, use the end of a wooden spoon or chopstick to poke holes all over the top of the cake – trying not to go through the whole thickness of the cake.
6
Drizzle the melted chocolate frosting and peanut butter all over the cake, then pour over the chocolate-peanut butter pudding.
7
Smooth the pudding into an even layer using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
8
Place cake in the fridge to cool slightly, then top with the Cool Whip, smoothing down in an even layer.
9
Garnish with any remaining melted peanut butter and frosting, along with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Reese’s Pieces.
10
Allow melted peanut butter and frosting to set before slicing and serving.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Strategic Poking Technique 🍴Use a fork or skewer to create evenly-spaced holes while the cake is still warm—this allows the peanut butter mixture to penetrate deeply and distribute uniformly throughout every layer.
- Peanut Butter Consistency Control 🥜Warm your peanut butter slightly and thin it with a bit of milk or melted white chocolate before pouring over the poked cake to ensure it flows smoothly into all the crevices without clumping.
- Layering Timing for Perfect Texture 🎂Let each layer set partially in the refrigerator (15-20 minutes) before adding the next topping to prevent flavors from muddying together and maintain distinct, luxurious layers.
- Reese's Cup Placement Strategy 🍫Partially embed your Reese's Cups and Pieces into the whipped topping while it's still soft, positioning them strategically so each slice guarantees a piece of candy in every bite.
- Chill Before Serving 🧊Refrigerate the finished cake for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow all flavors to meld, making the cake easier to slice cleanly while enhancing the creamy, fudgy texture.
