Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2
In a skillet over medium heat add in the onion. Saute until the onion is softened.
3
Add the garlic to the skillet, and saute for 30 seconds longer. Remove, and let the mixture cool.
4
In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart until no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat. Add to the onion mixture and allow to cool slightly.
5
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture and the softened cream cheese and shredded cheese; stir until the mixture is well blended.
6
Unroll the crescent rolls and slice each triangle in half with a pizza cutter.
7
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, take each crescent roll piece and place a scoop of the sausage-cream cheese mixture on the wider base of the triangle.
8
Roll the crescent up toward the tip, wrapping the filling inside. Place the rolls, seam-side down, on the baking sheet.
9
Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent roll dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Brown Sausage Thoroughly Before Mixing 🍖Cook the pork sausage until deeply browned and crumbled, then drain excess fat completely—this builds flavor and prevents soggy rolls from excess grease.
- Soften Cream Cheese for Smooth Filling 🧈Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before mixing so it blends seamlessly with sausage without lumps or tough spots.
- Seal Edges Properly to Prevent Leaking 🔒Pinch and press the seams of each crescent roll firmly before baking—this keeps the filling contained and ensures golden, crispy exteriors.
- Chill Filled Rolls Before Baking 🧊Refrigerate assembled rolls for 15-30 minutes before baking so the dough stays flaky and doesn't over-puff, creating a more refined texture and appearance.
- Sauté Aromatics for Deeper Flavor 🧄Caramelize diced onions and garlic in the sausage drippings before adding cream cheese—this develops rich, complex flavors that elevate the entire filling.
