Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cut Vegetables Uniformly 🔪Dice your cabbage, sweet potatoes, and apples into similar-sized pieces so they roast evenly and finish at the same time, preventing some from burning while others remain undercooked.
- Pre-roast Sweet Potatoes 🥔Start sweet potatoes on the sheet pan 10-15 minutes before adding other ingredients since they take longer to soften than cabbage and apples, ensuring everything is perfectly tender simultaneously.
- Maximize Caramelization with Oil Distribution 🫒Toss vegetables separately with olive oil before arranging on the pan, then place sausages on top to create direct heat contact for browning while vegetables steam below for optimal texture contrast.
- Vinegar-Butter Glaze Timing ✨Whisk red wine vinegar with melted butter and drizzle over everything in the final 3-5 minutes of roasting to add brightness and tang without evaporating away the delicate flavors.
- High-Heat Finish for Crispness 🔥Increase oven temperature to 450°F in the last 5 minutes to crisp the cabbage edges and caramelize the apples slightly, adding textural depth to your one-pan meal.
