|
Chill for 1 hour and ENJOY!*

Notes

1
|
I’ve tried this recipe before by swapping the tofu for 2 avocados and it’s delicious!
2
|
A standard chocolate bar is 3oz and that amount will also work in the recipe if you don’t want to buy a second one.
3
|
Can be enjoyed immediately, but I suggest chilling it.
4
|
Because this pudding is so good chilled, no-bake tofu chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert to prep in advance! You can make the mousse up to 2 days in advance. Cover and refrigerate before adding any toppings.
5
|
Store leftover chocolate mousse in the fridge in an airtight container. It will keep well for up to about 5 days. I think it would freeze well, but I haven’t tried it yet.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Drain Your Silken Tofu Thoroughly 💧
Press the tofu gently between paper towels for 10-15 minutes before blending to remove excess moisture, resulting in a denser, creamier mousse texture rather than a watery consistency.
  • Temper Your Dark Chocolate Properly 🍫
Finely chop your dark chocolate and melt it gently over a double boiler at low heat, then let it cool to room temperature before folding into the tofu mixture to prevent curdling and ensure silky smoothness.
  • Use a High-Speed Blender for Flawless Texture ⚡
A food processor or standard blender may leave tiny tofu particles visible; a high-speed blender like a Vitamix creates an impossibly smooth, restaurant-quality mousse in just 60-90 seconds.
  • Balance Sweetness with Quality Vanilla Extract 🌿
Always use pure vanilla extract rather than imitation, as it complements dark chocolate's complexity and prevents the mousse from tasting one-dimensional when combined with maple syrup.
  • Chill Before Serving for Optimal Structure 🧊
Refrigerate the mousse for at least 2 hours before serving to allow it to set properly and develop a light, airy texture that contrasts beautifully with the silken tofu's natural creaminess.
