Ingredients

  • 4 pounds - Boneless beef chuck roast
  • ⅞ oz - Brown gravy mix
  • ⅔ oz - Italian salad dressing mix
  • ½ cup - Red wine
  • ½ cup - Water
  • 2 tablespoons - Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 - Red bell pepper
  • 1 - Onion
  • 2 cloves - Garlic
  • 1 tbsp - Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp - Cold water

Instructions

  1. Place roast in slow cooker and top with chopped peppers and onions.
  2. In a bowl, combine the gravy mix, salad dressing, wine, Worcestershire sauce and water; stir to combine.
  3. Pour sauce over beef in crock pot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until meat is tender.
  5. When meat has finished cooking, remove beef from slow cooker and set aside. Transfer liquid from crock pot to a sauce pan over medium high heat.
  6. Stir together cornstarch and water to form a slurry.
  7. Pour slurry into saucepan and whisk until sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Slice beef and serve with thickened sauce.
