Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Toast Your Bread First 🍞
Cut sourdough into cubes and toast them in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes before mixing to prevent a soggy, dense stuffing and enhance the bread's natural tangy flavor.
  • Properly Caramelize Your Aromatics 🧅
Cook diced onions and celery in butter over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until golden and soft, building a rich flavor foundation that elevates the entire dish.
  • Balance Your Broth Temperature ⚖️
Use warm (not boiling) chicken broth when combining with toasted bread to allow even absorption without overcooking the exterior while the center remains dry.
  • Dry Your Herbs for Maximum Potency 🌿
Crush dried sage and poultry seasoning between your palms before adding to release essential oils and distribute seasonings more evenly throughout the stuffing.
  • Tent While Baking for Moisture Control 🎪
Cover stuffing with foil for the first 25 minutes of baking, then uncover for the final 15-20 minutes to achieve a golden, crispy top while keeping the interior moist.
