Instructions

1

Pierce the spaghetti squash all over with a knife. Microwave on high for two to three minutes until it softens enough to cut. Halve the squash lengthwise with a sharp, large knife.
2
|
Scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Place the halves, either side by side or one after the other, cut-side down in a microwave-safe baking dish.
3
|
Add a little water so that it reaches a depth of two to three centimeters in the dish. Then cook the casserole dish with the pumpkin in the microwave for 7 to 10 minutes at the highest wattage setting (800 or 900 watts).
4
|
Let the pumpkin cool briefly, then scrape out the spaghetti-like flesh with a fork.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Microwave Magic 🌟
Pierce the spaghetti squash multiple times with a fork before microwaving to prevent potential steam buildup and ensure even cooking.
  • Strand Separation Technique 🍴
Use a fork to gently scrape the squash flesh in long, smooth strokes to create perfect, pasta-like strands without breaking them.
  • Moisture Management 💧
After cooking, let the squash sit for 5 minutes and use a clean kitchen towel to absorb excess moisture, preventing a watery final dish.
  • Flavor Infusion Hack 🌿
Toss the hot squash strands with garlic-infused olive oil or herb butter immediately after scraping to maximize flavor absorption.
  • Storage Pro Tip 🥡
Store cooked spaghetti squash strands in an airtight container for up to 5 days, making it perfect for meal prep and quick reheating.
