Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Your Bread First 🍞Cut bread into cubes and lightly toast in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before adding liquid to prevent a mushy texture and enhance depth of flavor.
- Properly Caramelize Vegetables 🧅Cook diced onions, celery, and carrots in butter over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until softened and lightly golden to develop rich, sweet flavors that elevate the entire dish.
- Bloom Your Seasonings 🌿Add poultry seasoning and all-purpose blend to the hot buttered vegetables for 30 seconds before adding broth to unlock their aromatic compounds and distribute flavors evenly.
- Control Moisture Absorption 💧Use warm (not boiling) chicken broth and fold it gently into bread cubes, allowing 2-3 minutes for absorption before covering to achieve perfectly moist yet fluffy texture.
- Rest Before Serving 🛑Let the finished stuffing sit off heat for 5 minutes covered to allow flavors to meld and ensure consistent, fluffy texture throughout rather than a dense bottom layer.
