Tips & Tricks (5)
- Bloom the Gelatin Properly 🧊Dissolve the strawberry Jell-O in hot water first, then chill until syrupy before folding in other ingredients to prevent the marshmallows and fruit from sinking to the bottom.
- Drain Pineapple Strategically 💧Reserve the pineapple juice and use it to replace some of the cold water when preparing the instant pudding for enhanced fruity flavor without excess moisture that can make the salad watery.
- Fold, Don't Stir 🤲Use a gentle folding motion with a spatula when combining ingredients to maintain the light, fluffy texture and prevent deflating the whipped topping or breaking up the marshmallows.
- Chill Between Layers ❄️Allow the Jell-O mixture to partially set for 15-20 minutes before adding the final whipped topping layer, which helps create distinct textures and prevents everything from blending into one uniform consistency.
- Fresh Strawberry Timing ⏱️Add fresh strawberries in the final 30 minutes before serving to preserve their firm texture and vibrant color, preventing them from becoming mushy or bleeding into the creamy base.
