1
Combine the rice, cinnamon sticks, and 2 cups of hot water in a bowl with a lid. Allow it to sit for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight if desired.

Once the rice water and cinnamon sticks have soaked for a while, transfer it to a blender. Incorporate 2 additional cups of water and blend on medium until all the ingredients are thoroughly blended.
3
Separate the rice and cinnamon bits from the mixture by straining.
4
Ensure that the stems are removed from the strawberries and keep approximately 10 strawberries separate from the rest of the pound.
5
Add the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and vanilla extract to the blender along with the remaining strawberries.
6
Combine and blend thoroughly, then filter into the rice water mixture.
7
Stir the strawberry milk mixture and rice water together until thoroughly incorporated, and add an additional cup of water into the mixture.
8
Cut the remaining 10 strawberries into thin slices.
9
Combine ice and sliced strawberries in a serving pitcher, then proceed to pour the prepared strawberry horchata into the pitcher.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Rice Before Soaking 🍚Lightly toast the rice in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes before soaking to develop a nutty, deeper flavor that elevates the entire drink's complexity.
- Strain Through Fine Mesh Twice 🧊Pass the blended horchata mixture through fine mesh or cheesecloth twice to achieve a silky, smooth texture without any gritty rice particles.
- Macerate Strawberries with Sugar 🍓Toss fresh strawberries with a tablespoon of sugar 15-20 minutes before blending to release their natural juices and intensify the fruity flavor.
- Infuse Cinnamon Sticks Separately 🤎Steep whole cinnamon sticks in warm milk for 10 minutes, then remove them before blending to control the spice intensity and prevent overpowering the strawberry notes.
- Chill Base Before Final Assembly ❄️Refrigerate the horchata base for at least 2 hours before serving and adding strawberries to allow flavors to meld and create a more cohesive, refreshing final drink.
