  • 12 ounce - bacon
  • ¼ cup - brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsps - maple syrup
  • 1 pinch - black pepper
  • 1 Dash - cayenne pepper

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to form a thick paste.
  4. Add the bacon to the bowl. Toss with tongs until bacon is coated in the maple-brown sugar mixture.
  5. Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  6. Roast on middle rack of oven until bacon is a deep brown and crispy around the edges, 20-25 minutes.
  7. Check to see that bacon is done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
  8. Allow the bacon to cool slightly before serving.
