Tips & Tricks (5)
- Slice Thickness for Even Cooking 🔪Cut sweet potatoes into uniform 1/2-inch slices to ensure even cooking throughout and prevent some pieces from burning while others remain undercooked.
- Oil Coating Creates the Crispy Exterior ✨Toss slices generously with olive oil before seasoning to create that signature crispy exterior while the inside stays tender and caramelized.
- Season Just Before Grilling 🧂Apply barbecue seasoning immediately before grilling to prevent the salt from drawing out moisture and compromising the crispy texture you're aiming for.
- High Heat First, Then Lower 🔥Start with high heat (450°F+) for 2-3 minutes per side to sear and create grill marks, then move to medium heat to finish cooking through without charring.
- Use a Grill Basket or Foil for Control 📦A grill basket or perforated foil prevents slices from falling through grates and allows you to shake them for even browning on all sides.
