Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Leftovers First 🧊Pat turkey, stuffing, and vegetables dry with paper towels before layering to prevent a soggy casserole and ensure crispy top edges during baking.
- Create a Cranberry-Mayo Binder 🎯Mix cranberry sauce with mayonnaise to create a tangy sauce that prevents dryness while binding layers together and adding moisture throughout the casserole.
- Toast the Top Layer Separately ✨Mix shredded cheddar with crushed stuffing crumbs and bake on a separate sheet at 375°F for 5 minutes, then top the casserole in the final 10 minutes for maximum crispiness.
- Warm Ingredients Before Assembly 🔥Bring all leftovers to room temperature before assembling to ensure even, faster cooking and prevent the outer edges from overcooking while waiting for the center to heat through.
- Layer Strategically for Texture 📐Alternate mashed potatoes, turkey, and stuffing in distinct layers rather than mixing them, allowing each component to maintain its texture and create pleasant surprises with every bite.
