Tips & Tricks (5)
- Tomato Selection Magic 🍅Choose peak-of-season heirloom tomatoes that are ripe but still firm, with vibrant color and a slight give when gently pressed - this ensures maximum flavor and texture.
- Mayo Infusion Technique 🌿Finely chop fresh basil and let it sit in the mayonnaise for 15-30 minutes before assembling the sandwich to allow the herbs to fully release their aromatic oils.
- Bread Toasting Perfection 🍞Lightly toast sourdough bread until golden and crisp, then let it cool for 2-3 minutes to prevent soggy bread while maintaining a crunchy texture.
- Salt Layer Strategy 🧂Sprinkle flaky sea salt directly on sliced tomatoes 5 minutes before assembling to draw out moisture and concentrate the tomato's natural sweetness.
- Parmesan Shaving Hack 🧀Use a vegetable peeler to create delicate, paper-thin parmesan shavings that will melt slightly from the tomato's warmth and distribute more evenly across the sandwich.
