Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pop and Cool Completely 🍿Always allow freshly popped popcorn to cool to room temperature before coating with white chocolate to prevent the coating from melting and sliding off unevenly.
- Temper Your White Chocolate 🍫Melt white chocolate chips slowly over a double boiler (never direct heat) and stir in a tablespoon of coconut oil to achieve a smooth, glossy coating that sets beautifully without becoming thick and clumpy.
- Strategic Sprinkle Timing ✨Add sprinkles and white cake mix powder immediately after coating the popcorn while the chocolate is still wet, so they adhere properly rather than sliding off once the chocolate sets.
- Dry Unpopped Kernels First 🎯Remove as many unpopped kernels as possible before coating, as they absorb moisture and can turn the mixture grainy or cause the chocolate coating to crack during storage.
- Line and Layer for Storage 📦Spread the coated popcorn on parchment paper to set completely (30 minutes), then store in an airtight container with parchment between layers to maintain crunchiness and prevent clumping for up to 5 days.
