Tips & Tricks (5)
- Chill Everything First 🧊Pre-chill your wine, glasses, and serving pitcher for at least 2 hours before mixing to keep the sangria refreshingly cold without excessive dilution from melting ice.
- Macerate Fruit Strategically ⏰Add hardy fruits like oranges and lemons 2-3 hours ahead, but reserve delicate berries and peaches for just 30 minutes before serving to prevent them from becoming mushy while maximizing flavor infusion.
- Balance Your Citrus Ratios 🍋Squeeze fresh lime and lemon juice rather than using bottled; the acidity should complement the Viognier's natural sweetness without overpowering it—aim for a 2:1 wine-to-citrus ratio.
- Freeze Berries as Ice Cubes 🫐Use the frozen blueberries as natural ice by placing them in an ice cube tray with a splash of white wine, preventing dilution while adding visual appeal and subtle flavor as they slowly melt.
- Add Liqueur at the End 🍊Pour the orange liqueur just before serving to preserve its delicate aromatics and bright citrus notes rather than allowing them to dissipate during extended chilling time.
