
Yeasted Belgian Waffles
These yeasted Belgian waffles have a crisp, golden exterior, soft and fluffy interior, and a sweet, yeasted flavor. The batter can be made the night before, so the next morning all you need to do is whip them up in your waffle iron and drizzle a generous amount of maple syrup on top! As a fun, shareable (and stackable!) morning treat, they’re sure to be the star of the breakfast table!

Ingredients
- 2 cups - whole milk
- 6 tablespoons - unsalted butter
- 3 - eggs
- 1 tbsp - vanilla extract
- ½ tsp - kosher salt
- 3 cups - all-purpose flour
- ½ cup - granulated sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons - active dry yeast
- maple syrup
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until well combined.
- Add the flour, sugar, and yeast and mix until fully combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least one hour or overnight.
- When ready to make the waffles, place your waffle iron over low-medium heat.
- Add about 1 cup of batter and cook until evenly golden brown, or about 2 minutes on each side. Set each waffle on a wire rack to cool slightly.
- Serve immediately with butter, fresh fruit, and maple syrup.
