4-Ingredient BBQ Baked Salmon
Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
2
|
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3
|
Place the salmon fillets skin side down on the baking sheet, and gently pat with a paper towel.
4
|
Place butter in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high until melted, about 20 seconds.
5
|
Stir the lemon juice into the butter. Add the barbecue sauce and stir well to combine.
6
|
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the barbecue glaze down the center of each salmon fillet. Use the back of the spoon to evenly coat the fillets with glaze.
7
|
Bake the salmon on middle rack of oven until the glaze is caramelized and the flesh flakes easily with a fork, 12-15 minutes.
8
|
Check to see that salmon is done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
9
|
Squeeze fresh lemon juice over salmon and serve immediately. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Salmon Moisture Magic 💦Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels before applying BBQ sauce to ensure maximum sauce adhesion and prevent steaming.
- BBQ Sauce Layer Technique 🖌️Apply BBQ sauce in thin, even layers to prevent burning and create a beautiful, caramelized exterior on the salmon.
- Lemon Zest Boost 🍋Grate fresh lemon zest over the salmon just before serving to add a bright, citrusy complexity that complements the BBQ sauce.
- Butter Basting Trick 🧈Melt the butter and brush it over the salmon halfway through baking to create a rich, glossy finish and prevent dryness.
- Perfect Salmon Doneness 🐟Check salmon for doneness by gently pressing the thickest part - it should flake easily and appear opaque, but still remain slightly translucent in the center.
