Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Asparagus Thoroughly 💧Pat asparagus completely dry with paper towels before tossing with oil—moisture prevents proper browning and creates steam instead of a golden, caramelized exterior.
- Slice Garlic Thin, Not Minced 🧄Use thin garlic slices instead of minced garlic to prevent burning; slices toast evenly and develop sweet, nutty notes while whole pieces won't scorch as easily.
- Arrange in Single Layer 📐Spread asparagus in a single layer with no overlapping to ensure even heat exposure and allow all pieces to achieve consistent caramelization on all sides.
- High Heat & High Oven Temperature 🔥Roast at 425-450°F for just 12-15 minutes to achieve tender-crisp texture with caramelized tips; this quick, hot method locks in freshness and develops deep flavor.
- Season After Roasting 🧂Add finishing salt and freshly cracked pepper after roasting rather than before to preserve their bright flavors and prevent them from burning in the high heat.
