Tips & Tricks (5)
- Oil Temperature Matters 🌡️Use room-temperature vegetable oil mixed with your spices to prevent the oil from cooking off the crackers' surface during the overnight infusion, ensuring maximum flavor absorption.
- Layering Technique for Even Coating 🎯Add crackers to the ziplock bag in batches with the oil mixture, shaking vigorously between each addition to ensure every cracker gets evenly coated before sealing overnight.
- Spice Bloom Enhancement 🌶️Warm your vegetable oil for 30 seconds in the microwave before mixing with spices to help bloom the flavors of the cayenne, chili, and garlic powders, creating a more robust taste profile.
- Seal and Shake Strategy 🤝Squeeze out excess air from the ziplock bag and shake it every 4-6 hours during the overnight infusion to redistribute the oil and prevent crackers from settling unevenly at the bottom.
- Post-Infusion Drying Trick ✨Spread the crackers on a paper towel-lined baking sheet for 10 minutes after removing from the bag to remove excess oil and achieve optimal crunchiness without greasiness.
