Tips & Tricks (5)
- Chill Dough Before Baking 🧊Refrigerate the prepared dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent the Andes mints from melting too quickly and ensure they stay intact within the cookies.
- Press Mints into Warm Dough 🍫Place whole Andes candies into the dough immediately after scooping onto the baking sheet while it's still warm, allowing them to slightly embed for even distribution.
- Don't Overbake for Chewy Centers ⏱️Remove cookies when edges are set but centers still appear slightly underdone—they'll continue cooking on the hot baking sheet and stay soft and chewy with melted mint centers.
- Use Quality Butter in Mix 🧈Replace the oil or butter called for in the sugar cookie mix with high-quality unsalted butter to create a richer, more decadent base that complements the Andes mint flavor.
- Store with Parchment Separation 📦Layer cooled cookies with parchment paper in an airtight container to prevent the mint chocolate from sticking together and maintain optimal texture for up to 5 days.
