Tips & Tricks (5)
- Banana Ripeness is Critical 🍌Use bananas with brown spots and soft flesh for maximum sweetness and moisture—overripe bananas prevent dense muffins and eliminate the need for extra sugar.
- Bloom Your Poppy Seeds 🌱Soak poppy seeds in warm milk for 15 minutes before mixing to enhance their flavor and create a more tender crumb texture.
- Don't Overmix the Batter ✋Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined with visible flour streaks to prevent tough, dense muffins—overmixing develops gluten which compromises texture.
- Glaze Application Timing ✨Apply the confectioner's sugar glaze while muffins are still warm so it sets into a light coating, then sprinkle extra poppy seeds immediately before it hardens.
- Even Baking with Proper Filling 🎯Fill muffin cups two-thirds full and use an ice cream scoop for uniformity—this ensures even baking time and consistent muffin sizes throughout the batch.
