Instructions

1
|
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2
|
Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
3
|
Combine the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Beat with a hand mixer until pale and fluffy.
4
|
Add the egg to the bowl and continue to beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.
5
|
Add the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt to the bowl. Beat the mixture on medium speed, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed, until the ingredients are combined.
6
|
Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula, and add the chocolate chips to the mixture. Fold the chocolate chips into the dough until they are evenly distributed.
7
|
Transfer the dough to the prepared baking dish and press it into an even layer.
8
|
Bake the blondies on middle rack of oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
9
|
Check to see that blondies are done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
10
|
Allow the blondies to cool at room temperature for a least 15 minutes. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to an hour, then slice and serve.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Butter Temperature Matters 🧈
Allow butter to soften at room temperature for 30-45 minutes before mixing to ensure smooth, even incorporation and the perfect blondie texture.
  • Chocolate Chip Distribution Trick 🍫
Toss chocolate chips in a tablespoon of flour before folding into the batter to prevent them from sinking and ensure even distribution throughout the blondies.
  • Pan Preparation Pro Tip 🥄
Line your baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on two sides for easy removal and clean, perfect-edged blondies.
  • Moisture Mastery 💧
Don't overmix the batter - mix just until ingredients are combined to keep blondies tender and prevent tough, dense texture.
  • Cooling Technique 🧊
Allow blondies to cool completely in the pan before cutting to ensure clean, crisp edges and prevent crumbling.
