Preheat oven to 350°.

Grease an 8×8 baking dish.

Melt butter over low heat.

Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar until blended.

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.

Stir in flour mixture.

Stir in vanilla and nuts.

Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.

Cut while still warm for best results.
