Tips & Tricks (5)
- Tomato Blistering Technique 🍅Use a cast-iron or heavy-bottomed skillet and resist the urge to constantly stir—allow cherry tomatoes to develop a deep, caramelized char by letting them sit undisturbed for 2-3 minutes.
- Pasta Water Magic 💧Always reserve 1 cup of starchy pasta water before draining—the starches help emulsify the sauce and create a silky, clingy texture that perfectly coats each pasta strand.
- Mozzarella Texture Trick 🧀Cut mozzarella into room temperature cubes and add them to the pasta off direct heat to prevent melting, allowing them to maintain a beautiful, creamy texture.
- Basil Preservation Hack 🌿Tear fresh basil leaves instead of chopping to prevent bruising and oxidation, which helps maintain their vibrant color and intense flavor profile.
- Olive Oil Quality Matters 🫒Use a high-quality extra virgin olive oil with robust, fruity notes to elevate the entire dish's flavor—the oil is a key component in this simple, ingredient-driven recipe.
