Tips & Tricks (5)
- Maximize Banana Moisture 🍌Use bananas so overripe they're almost black with visible spots—they contain maximum natural sugars and moisture, eliminating the need for extra liquid and creating a supremely tender crumb.
- Bloom Your Cocoa Powder 🫗Whisk cocoa powder with a tablespoon of hot water or melted butter before adding to the batter to release its full flavor potential and eliminate any bitter, chalky taste.
- Toast Chocolate Chips First ⏱️Lightly toast your chocolate chips in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes before folding them in to intensify their chocolate flavor and prevent them from sinking to the bottom of the loaf.
- Brown Your Butter 🧈Use browned butter instead of regular melted butter to add nutty, complex flavors that complement the chocolate and cocoa beautifully while enhancing overall richness.
- Cool Before Slicing ❄️Allow the bread to cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing—this sets the crumb structure and prevents the fudgy chocolate from creating a gummy texture.
