Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 350℉. Line the cups of muffin tins with 18 muffin liners or grease with non-stick cooking spray.
2
In a large bowl using a handheld electric mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar on high speed until fluffy. Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
3
Whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips in a separate bowl before adding to the wet ingredients. Mix on low speed until the dry ingredients are just incorporated.
4
Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup to the top with the batter. Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a tester inserted into the top comes out without any raw batter. Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Banana Ripeness is Crucial 🍌Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for maximum sweetness and moisture—they'll blend smoothly and reduce the need for added sugar while preventing dry muffins.
- Bloom Your Cocoa Powder ☕Mix cocoa powder with a small amount of hot water before adding to the batter to intensify chocolate flavor and eliminate raw cocoa taste for deeper richness.
- Don't Overmix Your Batter 🥄Fold ingredients together until just combined—overmixing develops gluten and creates tough, dense muffins instead of the tender, fluffy texture you're aiming for.
- Room Temperature Eggs Matter 🥚Use eggs at room temperature to ensure proper emulsification and better incorporation into the batter for more uniform texture and moisture distribution throughout.
- Strategic Chocolate Chip Placement 🍫Reserve some chocolate chips and sprinkle them on top of batter before baking for pockets of melted chocolate in every bite and enhanced visual appeal.
