Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Shrimp Dry for Better Caramelization 💧Thoroughly pat raw shrimp with paper towels before cooking to remove excess moisture, allowing the honey-garlic glaze to caramelize beautifully rather than steam.
- Don't Overcrowd the Baking Dish 🍤Arrange shrimp in a single layer with space between each piece to ensure even heat distribution and prevent the glaze from becoming diluted by trapped steam.
- Bloom Your Garlic in the Glaze 🧄Mix garlic with soy sauce and honey before adding shrimp, allowing the garlic to infuse the liquid and develop deeper, more complex flavors throughout cooking.
- Watch for the Pink-to-White Transition ⏱️Remove shrimp from the oven the moment they turn opaque and slightly pink—overcooking by even one minute will result in rubbery, tough shrimp that's difficult to salvage.
- Finish with Fresh Lime Juice Off Heat 🍋Squeeze fresh lime juice over the cooked shrimp after baking rather than using the slices in the pan, preserving the bright acidity that perfectly balances the sweet honey glaze.
