Tips & Tricks (5)
- Chill Dough Before Baking 🧊Refrigerate your dough for at least 30 minutes after mixing to prevent cookies from spreading too thin and ensure the crinkled texture sets properly during baking.
- Double-Coat the Powdered Sugar 🍬Roll each dough ball first in a light coating of powdered sugar, then dip it in a second batch of powdered sugar for deeper crinkles and a more dramatic, professional-looking finish.
- Balance Your Cake Mix Ratio 🎂Use equal parts lemon and strawberry cake mix (or slightly more strawberry) to ensure the flavors complement rather than compete, creating a harmonious fruity taste profile.
- Oil Choice Makes a Difference 🫒Use neutral-flavored oils like vegetable or canola oil rather than olive oil, as they won't overpower the delicate lemon-strawberry flavors and will produce a lighter, more tender crumb.
- Bake on Parchment for Perfect Crinkles ✨Always bake on parchment paper instead of greased sheets to prevent sticking, allow even heat distribution, and preserve those signature deep crinkles as the cookies set.
