Instructions
1
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
2
In a separate bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until creamy.
3
Add the eggs and vanilla and beat to combine.
4
Crush half the Oreos into a fine crumb, then break the remaining cookies into small pieces.
5
Add the crushed Oreos and the chocolate chips to the cookie dough and stir to combine.
6
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour.
7
When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
8
Use a cookie scoop to scoop balls of dough. Place the dough on the lined baking sheet and press the ball down slightly. Top the cookie with two to three pieces of broken Oreo cookies.
9
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for five minutes, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Brown Your Butter First 🧈Melt butter until it turns golden-brown with a nutty aroma before mixing into your dough—this deepens flavor and creates a richer, more sophisticated cookie.
- Chill Dough for Perfect Texture ❄️Refrigerate your dough for at least 30 minutes before baking to prevent spreading and achieve that ideal chewy-gooey center with crispy edges.
- Leave Oreos Partially Whole 🍪Break some Oreos into chunks and leave others nearly whole—this creates pockets of creamy filling and varied textures throughout each bite.
- Toast Your Chocolate Chips 🍫Lightly toast chocolate chips in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes before adding to dough to intensify their flavor and prevent them from melting too quickly during baking.
- Underbake Slightly for Chewiness ⏱️Remove cookies from the oven when the edges are set but centers still look slightly underdone—they'll continue cooking from residual heat and stay perfectly chewy.
