Instructions
1
Preheat oven to 350℉.
2
Brown beef with onions and peppers in a large skillet. Drain well and return to skillet.
3
Add ketchup, celery seed, dry mustard, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine. Simmer for 15 minutes.
4
While the sloppy joes are simmering, prepare the glaze by combining all the brown sugar, butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, sesame seeds and onion powder in a small bowl. Stir until completely combined and set aside.
5
Leaving the slider rolls connected, slice the slider rolls in half through the center so the tops are separated from the bottoms, but still in one piece.
6
Place the bottom half of the slider rolls in a 9×13 baking dish.
7
Spread the sloppy Joe mixture on the bottom half of the rolls.
8
Add a single layer of cheese and top with the French fried onions.
9
Place the tops of the slider rolls on top and brush the glaze mixture evenly over the top.
10
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and tops are golden.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Your Rolls for Structural Integrity 🍞Lightly butter and toast the Hawaiian rolls cut-side down for 2-3 minutes to create a barrier that prevents the sloppy joe mixture from soaking through and making them fall apart.
- Caramelize Your Onions and Peppers First 🧅Cook diced onions and bell peppers in butter over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until golden and sweet before adding the ground beef to build a deeper flavor foundation.
- Balance Your Sauce with Acid and Sweet 🎯Taste your sauce before serving and adjust the vinegar-to-brown sugar ratio to achieve the perfect tangy-sweet balance that's signature to great sloppy joes.
- Brown Beef Properly for Better Texture 🥩Break ground beef into small pieces as it cooks and let it sit undisturbed for 2-3 minutes between stirring to develop a flavorful crust instead of steamed, mushy meat.
- Assemble Just Before Serving 🧀Top your sliders with cheese and assemble only 5 minutes before serving so the rolls stay fresh and the cheese melts perfectly from the warm filling without becoming soggy.
