Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2
|
In a large mixing bowl, stir together cake mix and flour. Add eggs, oil and sour cream and mix on medium speed until well blended. (batter should be stiff)
3
|
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
4
|
Use a medium cookie scoop or Tablespoon to roll dough into approximately one inch balls and place on a cookie sheet.
5
|
Press cookies down with the back of a spoon dipped in sugar to flatten cookies to about a half inch thick.
6
|
Bake approximately ten minutes until just set. You don’t want the bottom of cookies to brown or you’ll end up with a crunchy cookie, not a soft one.
7
|
Let cookies cool for a minute on the pan and then transfer to wire racks until completely cooled.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cake Mix Magic 🍰Choose a cake mix with pudding already in the mix for extra moisture and softness in your sugar cookies, creating a more tender and rich texture.
- Chill for Control 🧊Refrigerate the cookie dough for 30 minutes before rolling and cutting to prevent spreading and ensure cleaner, more defined cookie shapes.
- Sour Cream Secret 🥛The sour cream adds incredible moisture and tanginess, helping to create a softer, more luxurious cookie that stays fresh longer.
- Decorating Pro Tip 🎨Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating to prevent icing from melting and ensure a clean, professional finish.
- Texture Perfect Technique 👌Use a light hand when mixing to avoid overworking the dough, which can result in tough, dense cookies instead of soft, tender ones.
