Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Surface Secret 🏜️Pat your steaks completely dry with paper towels before seasoning and cooking to achieve a golden, caramelized crust rather than steam.
- Seasoning Layering Technique 🧂Apply sea salt and black pepper 15-20 minutes before cooking, then add garlic powder and paprika just before searing to prevent burning while building complex flavor layers.
- Avocado Oil Temperature Advantage 🌡️Use avocado oil's high smoke point (520°F) to achieve superior searing without burning your spices or creating acrid flavors that detract from the meat.
- Rest & Carry-Over Cooking 🛑Remove steaks 5°F below target temperature and rest for 5 minutes; they'll continue cooking internally while fibers relax, ensuring perfect doneness and maximum juiciness.
- Fresh Herb Infusion Timing 🌿Add fresh herbs during the last 30 seconds of cooking and top the resting steak with more herbs to preserve their volatile oils and brighten the savory spice profile.
