Tips & Tricks (5)
- Butter Temperature for Perfect Crust 🧈Use cold, cubed butter when mixing the oatmeal base to create a crumbly texture that bakes into a sturdy, golden crust that won't become greasy or dense.
- Toast Your Oats First 🌾Lightly toast the oats in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before mixing them into the base to deepen their flavor and prevent a raw, bland taste in the final bars.
- Caramel Layer Thickness Control 🍯Spread the salted caramel ice cream topping evenly with an offset spatula while slightly warm, and let it cool for 10 minutes before adding the chocolate layer to prevent sinking and ensure distinct layers.
- Twix Placement Strategy 🍫Chop Twix bars into small, uniform pieces and distribute them throughout the caramel layer rather than placing whole bars, so every bite contains chocolate, caramel, and cookie pieces.
- Clean Cutting Technique ✂️Cut the cooled bars with a hot, wet knife wiped clean between each cut to prevent the caramel and chocolate from sticking and tearing, ensuring clean, professional-looking portions.
