Tips & Tricks (5)
- Sear Chicken Before Crockpot 🔥Quickly sear chicken breasts in olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side before adding to the crockpot to develop a golden crust and lock in juices, resulting in more flavorful meat.
- Strain Cottage Cheese for Silky Texture 🧈Place blended cottage cheese in a fine-mesh strainer for 10 minutes before adding to remove excess whey, creating an ultra-smooth, restaurant-quality cream sauce without graininess.
- Add Pasta During Final 30 Minutes ⏱️Stir in uncooked bowtie pasta only in the last 30 minutes of cooking rather than earlier to prevent mushiness and maintain perfect al dente texture while absorbing all the flavor.
- Finish with Fresh Basil Off Heat 🌿Remove the crockpot from heat, then stir in fresh basil at the very end to preserve its bright, aromatic qualities rather than wilting them away in the warm sauce.
- Balance Acidity with Butter 🧈Swirl in butter during the final minutes to mellow the acidity from fire-roasted tomatoes and create a luxuriously silky mouthfeel that balances the tomato paste and broth.
