Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Asparagus Thoroughly 💧Pat asparagus completely dry with paper towels before cooking to ensure proper caramelization and prevent the glaze from becoming watery instead of syrupy.
- Reduce the Glaze Separately 🍯Whisk honey and balsamic vinegar together in a small pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes to concentrate flavors and create a thicker, more luxurious coating that clings to the spears.
- Snap Off the Woody Ends ✂️Gently bend each asparagus spear until it naturally snaps—this removes the tough, fibrous bottom while preserving the tender, flavorful portion that cooks evenly.
- Bloom Garlic in Oil First 🧄Toast minced garlic in olive oil for 30-45 seconds before adding asparagus to release its aromatic compounds and create a deeper, more complex flavor base.
- Finish with Glaze at the End 🎯Add the honey-balsamic reduction in the final 1-2 minutes of cooking to preserve its bright acidity and glossy appearance rather than allowing it to caramelize too heavily.
