Halloween Fried Oreos
Instructions
1
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
2
Add milk, egg, and oil (or melted butter) to the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth and lump-free.
3
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Test temperature with a drop of batter—it should sizzle and float.
4
Using a fork, dip each Oreo into the batter, coating evenly. Stab the fork through the center to help remove excess batter.
5
Carefully drop battered Oreos into the hot oil. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
6
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
7
Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Freeze Oreos Before Frying ❄️Chill your Oreos in the freezer for at least 2 hours before coating and frying to prevent the filling from leaking out and ensure a crispy exterior with a perfectly melted center.
- Maintain Oil Temperature Precisely 🌡️Keep oil at 350°F (175°C) using a thermometer—too hot burns the batter before the cookie warms, too cool results in greasy, soggy treats that absorb excess oil.
- Double-Coat for Extra Crispiness 🥣Dip each frozen Oreo twice in the batter, letting excess drip off between coatings, to create a thicker, crunchier exterior that contrasts beautifully with the melted center.
- Fry in Small Batches Only 🍳Fry just 2-3 Oreos at a time to avoid overcrowding the oil, which lowers temperature and prevents proper browning—patience ensures each cookie fries evenly and crisps perfectly.
- Dust Immediately While Hot ✨Apply powdered sugar within 30 seconds of removing Oreos from hot oil so it adheres to the residual moisture and creates an elegant coating rather than sliding off a cooled surface.
