Tender bone-in pork chops baked in the oven with a thick and crispy Parmesan panko crust. The recipe is a Yummly original created by Sara Mellas.
8 Ingredients

From the Cook
1/2
Parmesan Crusted Baked Pork Chops
Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2
|
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
3
|
Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper.
4
|
Place the panko, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and black pepper in a medium mixing bowl. Stir with a fork to combine. Pour in the melted butter, and stir until the crumbs are thoroughly moistened.
5
|
Divide an equal amount of the Parmesan mixture over each pork chop. Using clean hands or a spoon, pat the mixture into an even layer, covering the surface of each pork chop.
6
|
Bake the pork chops on middle rack of oven until the crust is golden and the meat reaches an internal temperature of 140°F, 25-30 minutes.
7
|
Check to see that pork chops are done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
8
|
Allow the pork chops to rest for 3 minutes on the baking sheet. Plate and serve immediately.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Panko Crunch Technique 🥣Toast the panko breadcrumbs in a dry skillet before mixing with Parmesan to enhance their golden color and create an extra crispy crust.
- Moisture Barrier Magic 💦Pat the pork chops completely dry with paper towels before coating to ensure the breading adheres perfectly and creates a crisp exterior.
- Cheese Grating Pro Tip 🧀Always use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-packaged, as it melts more evenly and provides a more intense flavor.
- Even Coating Trick 🌪️Use a wire rack when breading to allow excess breading to fall away and ensure an even, light coating on the pork chops.
- Butter Browning Technique 🧈Melt the butter and brush it onto the breaded pork chops before baking to help create a golden, more flavorful crust.
