Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Dry for Crispier Edges 💧Pat your broccoli and cauliflower florets completely dry with paper towels before tossing in oil to maximize browning and achieve crispy, caramelized edges rather than steamed textures.
- Maximize Surface Area 🔪Cut florets into similar, medium-sized pieces and arrange them cut-side down on the baking sheet to create maximum contact with the hot pan for deeper caramelization and flavor development.
- Strategic Seasoning Placement 🧂Toss vegetables with salt and garlic powder just before roasting rather than earlier, as this prevents moisture extraction and ensures seasonings adhere properly during the cooking process.
- Don't Overcrowd the Pan 📏Spread vegetables in a single layer with space between pieces; overcrowding causes steaming instead of roasting, resulting in soggy rather than crispy florets with golden caramelization.
- Finish with Quality Oil 🫒Drizzle a small amount of premium extra-virgin olive oil after roasting to enhance flavor and add a luxurious finish, as high heat can diminish the delicate notes of the best oils.
