Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Wings Completely Dry 🧻Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the chicken wings before seasoning and spraying with cooking spray. Moisture is the enemy of crispiness, so this step is crucial for achieving that restaurant-quality crunch.
- Elevate on a Wire Rack 🔗Place wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet rather than directly on the pan. This allows hot air to circulate underneath for even crisping on all sides without the bottoms becoming soggy.
- Two-Stage Seasoning Method 🧂Season wings with half your spice blend (salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika) before baking, then toss with remaining seasoning and fresh olive oil halfway through cooking. This locks in flavor while preventing burnt spices.
- Optimal Temperature & Timing ⏱️Bake at 450°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping wings halfway through. This high heat creates crispy exterior skin while keeping the meat juicy, far superior to lower temperatures that produce rubbery results.
- Post-Bake Flavor Boost 💫Toss hot wings immediately after baking with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil and fresh minced garlic for enhanced depth. The residual heat releases the garlic's aromatic oils for maximum flavor impact.
